Knicks guard Josh Hart shares his go-to routine before tipoff
New York Knicks guard Josh Hart shared the exact pregame routine he follows before every game, from eating Mike and Ikes and popcorn to drinking C4 Energy.
Josh Hart's pregame routine isn't built around a complicated nutrition plan. Instead, the New York Knicks guard says he sticks with a collection of familiar favorites, including Mike and Ikes, popcorn, C4 energy drinks, grapes and PB&Js, before every game.
As the Knicks prepare for a new season following their championship run, the 31-year old told USA TODAY he's not changing the ritual that's helped him feel ready to compete for years.
What Josh Hart eats before every Knicks game
"I always eat the same meal, hit the hot tub," Hart said. "Every time I eat Mike and Ikes, popcorn, grapes, PB&J, kind of a random assortment of snacks, but it works. Sitting on the bench, I pray, drink some C4, and then I'm ready to run like a bat out of hell."
While his snack choices may be unconventional, one part of Hart's routine has become an official partnership.
Earlier this year, the Knicks guard teamed up with C4 Energy , the sports drink brand he says he uses before games.
"I'm proud to join C4 and their roster of top athletes because they reflect how I show up every day: focused, disciplined, and ready to give my all," Hart said earlier this year.
"C4 fuels the effort I can control on the court, and being NSF Certified for Sport gives me full confidence in what I put in my body, making this partnership a natural and authentic fit."
Seven months after announcing the collaboration, the NBA star teased a new flavor that may come out soon. While he didn't say exactly what the flavor is, he said if he could create his own drink, it would be a Mike and Ike collab. "I feel like that would be a fun collab."
How Hart spends his offseason away from basketball
While playing professional basketball has dominated most of his life, the father of two said he tried to escape the athletic world as much as possible this past off season.
"I just kind of get as far removed from basketball as I can. I work out, but that's about it," Hart said. "This offseason, I went to Bordeaux and Capri with my wife and some friends. That was fun, definitely the highlight."
Josh Hart jokes about podcast co-host Jalen Brunson
Off the basketball court, Hart still works with Brunson, but as a co-host of their podcast, "Roommates," which stems from the two being roommates back in Villanova. Although Brunson may be a good podcast host, Hart jokes that his toddlers make better roommates.
"They're messy, they're loud but they are cute. Their cuteness outweighs everything, and JB is not that cute."
