Kirk Herbstreit names his top national championship contender

ESPN "College GameDay" analyst and college football commentator Kirk Herbstreit shared the team he thinks is best equipped for a national championship run during the Georgia Bulldogs versus Florida Gators game.

"I still think Georgia 's the team to beat," Herbstreit said. Georgia looked pretty dominant in a 27-8 against Florida with the Bulldogs forcing four Florida turnovers and returning one for a touchdown. Herbstreit recently named Georgia along with Miami and Notre Dame as the top teams in the country.

Georgia has looked great in almost every game this season with the exception of Georgia's home loss to the Auburn Tigers . The Bulldogs have a steady team in a year of chaos and unpredictability.

"I'm saying Georgia, even though they're coming off a loss," Herbstreit said on GameDay. "I think this team could be the best team in the country."

Former Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban agreed with Herbstreit's pick of Georgia. "I like that pick," Saban said.

Herbstreit likes Georgia's defense, running backs and tight ends a lot. He thinks Ole Miss will be a big challenge for Georgia next week.
