The Houston Texans failed to extend their winning streak in Week 7, suffering a 27-21 loss against the New York Giants. Additionally, Jaylin Noel's injury made the loss even more frustrating for Houston, and the latest update on the wide receiver's condition has raised further concerns.
After the game, head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed that Noel had suffered a turf toe injury and was still undergoing evaluation.
"DeMeco Ryans said Jaylin Noel has a turf toe injury, which is why he didn't return. He's wearing a boot," Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Texans reported.

Noel sustained the injury during a kickoff return in the fourth quarter against New York, forcing him to exit the game early. He finished with two receptions on two targets for minus-three receiving yards. The Texans star also contributed on special teams, returning a kickoff for 21 yards and recording an 11-yard punt return before his afternoon came to an end.
The Houston team struggled to get their receiving corps going throughout the game. Nico Collins managed just two receptions for six yards, while Noel's early departure further limited Houston's options in the passing game. Though the Texans managed to force overtime, their offensive struggles ultimately proved costly as they failed to secure the victory.
The injury was particularly disappointing because Noel had shown encouraging signs in the previous game. He recorded 107 receiving yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.
Houston's upcoming bye week could provide Noel with valuable recovery time. The Texans will have an additional week to evaluate the injury and determine whether the receiver can return without aggravating the problem.
However, turf toe injuries can vary in severity. Hence, his recovery timeline will depend on the results of further evaluation.
The loss dropped Houston to 2-5, while the Giants improved to 4-2-1 heading into their bye week .
