Seahawks waive UDFA RB Anthony Hankerson
The Seahawks move on from Hankerson following the team’s second preseason matchup against the Titans.
The Seattle Seahawks waived running back Anthony Hankerson on Monday, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson, prior to their final preseason matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
Hankerson rushed for 1,086 yards in 2025 at Oregon State prior to entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in May. He was waived by the Dolphins in August, before signing with the Seahawks during training camp.
The 22-year-old Hankerson rushed for 10 yards on five carries, and added nine receiving yards in the Seahawks' 19-16 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 of the preseason prior to being waived by Seattle.
The Seahawks move forward with a running back unit consisting of Jadarian Price, Zach Charbonnet , George Holani , Emanuel Wilson , Velus Jones Jr., and Jacardia Wright. Hankerson will be able to sign with another team as a free agent if he is not claimed off of waivers.
