Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Joseph Baena placed fifth in his category at the INBA PNBA Pro/Am World Cup on Nov. 7

The event was Joseph's third-ever bodybuilding competition, and he said it marked his "pro debut" in the PNBA

Arnold Schwarzenegger 's youngest son, Joseph Baena , just made his professional natural bodybuilding debut — and placed in the top five.

Joseph, 29, competed in the Classic Physique Open category at the INBA PNBA Pro/Am World Cup in El Segundo, Calif., on Saturday, Nov. 7, which he said marked his "pro debut" in the Professional Natural Bodybuilding Association (PNBA), which co-hosts the event with the International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA).

The son of Schwarzenegger, 79, and Mildred Baena came in fifth in his category at the competition held at the El Segundo Performing Arts Center. Joseph documented the event by sharing footage of his "posing routine" on Instagram .

Joseph — who began competing as a bodybuilder in March — reflected on the experience in a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Nov. 8, stating that he is "extremely proud" of himself for placing in the "fantastic competition," and thanking everyone who supported him along the way.

He also shouted out his father, who was a professional bodybuilder before becoming an actor — and whom Joseph called "the best training partner" earlier this year .

"This was my pro debut in the INBA/PNBA — well, my PNBA debut — and it was for Classic Physique Open, and I placed in the top 5," Joseph said in the video. "So I'm extremely proud of myself."

Saturday's bodybuilding event marked Joseph's third-ever competition show, and the 29-year-old said he "came in looking so much better than last time," referring to an April event he competed in , which was the second competition of his career. It "was a very emotional day," he said of his latest go-around.

The burgeoning bodybuilder said he "felt good" up against the other pro competitors and called it an "incredible experience" for his professional debut show. He also revealed that his goal ahead of the event was to land in the top 5, which he achieved.

"I know what I need to do to improve," he said in the sit-down video. "I know what it takes to get better now."

Joseph also said in the video that he is "extremely proud of myself for the work that I put in," especially because he trained alone, with no coach. "Of course, there's guidance," Joseph said, "and, like my father always says, there's no such thing as a self-made man."

He did, however, shout out all of the "people in my corner," including his family and girlfriend, and everyone who has followed along with his bodybuilding journey via his social media posts.

The latest milestone in Joseph's bodybuilding career comes months after he revealed in an April GQ interview that his dad helped kickstart his journey into the sport after he became interested in health in college.

"My dad gave me the bodybuilding encyclopedia," Joseph told the outlet. "I was flipping through that, trying to learn how to grow the biceps, and I fell in love with weightlifting," he continued. "I fell in love with eating healthy. I fell in love with learning about the body and how it reacts to training, and I became very passionate about it."

When asked what it was like to train alongside his famous father — the pair have been photographed working out together at Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, Calif. — Joseph told the outlet, "He's the best training partner. I don't know what to say."
