Joel Embiid urges fans to ‘put pressure’ on Philadelphia 76ers to let him play back-to-back games

Joel Embiid's health has been a cause for concern for the Philadelphia 76ers for years, but the superstar is ready to take on some more responsibility this season.

Embiid and the 76ers continued their winning ways with a victory against the Milwaukee Bucks, thus moving them to 3-0 this season.

But now, the 76ers will have little time to revel in the spoils of victory, as they play the Detroit Pistons tonight in their first back-to-back this season.

Joel Embiid wants Philadelphia 76ers coaching staff to let him play back-to-back games

Speaking to reporters after the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Milwaukee Bucks, Joel Embiid was asked whether he would be playing in the second game of their back-to-back slate against the Detroit Pistons.

In typical Embiid fashion, the former MVP joked that he needed everyone to put pressure on the 76ers coaching staff to give him the all-clear and let him play, pointing to the fact that he had a few days to rest before last night's win.

Embiid said: "I have no idea. I actually want to play tomorrow, so can you guys put pressure on them? I don't know. You don't have to ask them, but obviously, you got three days off. Could have been two, but you get three days off.

"But it doesn't really matter. It's all about the season going well. So I guess the more time you can get to recover, the better, and then get used to it. But yeah, I want to play tomorrow. So I'll start writing articles."

So far this season, Embiid hasn't just looked healthy, but has also been playing at the high level fans became accustomed to during his MVP years.

Embiid put up a triple-double, scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, along with a steal, thus delivering his best outing this season.

Across his first three games, Embiid has averaged 21.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 block per game.

Unfortunately, Embiid's efficiency has been less than stellar, shooting just 39.2% from the field, 21.4% from deep, and 81.5% from the charity stripe.
