The two Macau athletes occupied the top two positions in a tightly contested battle for the medals. There was no seeding or pre-event ranking used to determine the order in which the finalists performed. Instead, each of the 21 athletes was assigned a random starting number between 1 and 21 through either a computer or manual draw. The draw therefore determined when each competitor would take to the floor.Changquan is one of the most dynamic disciplines in Wushu and demands athletes combine speed, power, flexibility and precision during a routine lasting around 90 seconds. The discipline is based on traditional northern Chinese kung fu movements and is characterised by explosive and acrobatic techniques. Athletes perform lightning-fast punches, deep lunging stances, high kicks and high-flying aerial jumps and spins as they attempt to execute their routines with precision.Get the latest Sports News and Live updates.
