Joey Porter Jr. trade: Dallas Cowboys acquire former Steelers CB

The Dallas Cowboys, the Cardinals' Week 8 opponent, traded for former Pittsburgh Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr.

· 198 words

One of the Arizona Cardinals ' upcoming opponents has made a pretty big move with a trade for an excellent defensive player. The Dallas Cowboys acquired cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a conditional sixth-round pick in 2027 and a second-round pick in 2028.

Porter, a 2023 second-round pick, broke up 14 passes last season.

He was locked with the Steelers in a contract stalemate. He also has missed the first three games of the season with a back issue, which he now says is fine. He made the call not to play in the first three games of the season.

The Cowboys, despite offseason changes to their defense, are ranked 25th in the league in points allowed. They are 1-2 and have allowed 28 or more points twice in three games.

Porter bolsters that defensive backfield.

The Cardinals will face the Cowboys on the road in Week 8, so Porter should be in shape and know Dallas' defense by then.
