Michigan hockey's latest outdoor game booked for storied NFL stadium
The game in February 2027 will be Michigan's 11th outdoor hockey game, most in college history.
Michigan hockey is taking it outside, again.
The Michigan hockey team will play an outdoor game at historic Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2027. Michigan will play Wisconsin in the game, with faceoff time to be announced.
This will mark the 11th outdoor game for Michigan hockey, the most in college history. Most recently, Michigan played Ohio State at Chicago's Wrigley Field in 2025 and Cleveland's FirstEnergy Stadium in 2023.
Michigan last played Wisconsin outdoors in 2010, at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin.
Lambeau Field will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2027. It last hosted an outdoor hockey game in 2006, when Wisconsin beat Ohio State, 4-2, in the inaugural "Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic."
General-public tickets for the 2027 game will go on sale Friday, Sept. 11.
Michigan hockey opens the 2026-27 season Oct. 2 at home against Bowling Green. The Wolverines are coming off a 38-8-1 season, which included another appearance in the Frozen Four .
