WWE’s Roman Reigns reveals the truth of his battle with leukemia right now, ‘I have to be very careful’

Such is Roman Reigns' superstar status in the WWE universe, that it's easy to forget that this is very much a man battling a serious illness.

Reigns has taken breaks from WWE before to battle CML (Chronic myelogenous leukemia) and has fought back from that time away to build the Tribal Chief character into one of the greatest in WWE's long history.

Currently holding the WWE Heavyweight championship, Reigns is very much still at the top of his game and won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

However, while Reigns is in tip top shape and continuing to work a decent schedule with WWE, he has revealed how in reality, he still very much has to watch what he's doing.

The fact Reigns has elevated himself to such a level in WWE really is quite amazing given the battle he faces on a daily basis just to remain healthy.

Many will complain about his schedule or lack of matches but the reality is that Reigns – real name Joe Anoi'a – has to manage himself.

And while he's doing okay right now, Reigns has revealed that he's still not out of the woods just yet.

"Well, with my medical history, I have to be very careful," Reigns revealed in Men's Health magazine.

"You know, I'm still to this day, down to the wire, fighting CML. We're under control and we're under the actual baseline, but to be in molecular remission, it has to be almost zeroed out. And there's just still those minute traces, like 0.031, you know what I mean? But they count. So I still just have to be very careful and very smart."

Reigns has clearly and very bravely tackled this disease head on. It makes what he has achieved even more impressive and the longer it continues, the better.

Of course, the day might come where he has to make a decision. But for now, we are seeing one of the best of all-time do his thing and WWE are lucky to have Roman Reigns around.
