Anna Yu's season ended just short of the medal round in the 2026 IHSA girls state tennis finals.

The Dunlap junior lost in the Class 2A consolation state semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Buffalo Grove High School. Her season came to a close with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat to New Trier junior Ingrid Fielder, who had already held a championship bracket third-round victory over Yu.

Despite the loss, Yu earned second-team All-State honors and a top-8 finish in her first foray into the Class 2A state finals. She is the two-time reigning Journal Star Player of the Year and was the Class 1A state runner-up last season.

Dunlap was 15th in the team standings as a first-time Class 2A participant.
