Alabama football has parted ways with Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. one year after he allegedly fled from officers during a traffic stop and days after he was arrested on accusations of doxing the police officer involved in the initial charges.

The defensive back, 20, was already suspended over a violation of team rules before last week's win over Texas A&M, a university spokesperson confirmed to The Athletic .

"He's not with us," Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer said in a news conference Monday . "We just have an expectation and standard in our program and the team rules and things that go along with that. There's still some details that I'm trying to understand, but it's enough to where we know that's not how we operate."

Kirkpatrick was arrested on misdemeanor charges on Friday, Oct. 23 after a University of Alabama police officer alleged to authorities that he received a profanity-laced Facebook Messenger communication from Kirkpatrick on Oct. 20.

According to the court documents filed on Monday and obtained by The Athletic, the officer claimed that he then went to Kirkpatrick's Facebook page to block him and found a photo of himself, his wife and their two children posted, with a caption that read, "Dis him?"

The officer was concerned for his safety and that of his family, the court documents said.

The officer conducted a traffic stop in November 2025 on the Strip in Tuscaloosa in which Kirkpatrick allegedly fled and eluded officers at the scene, according to the Tuscaloosa Thread .

Kirkpatrick was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude, and speeding. He was suspended for the last seven games of the 2025 season.

The Gadsden, Ala. native is the son of former NFL Dre Kirkpatrick, 37, a cornerback who played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals for 10 seasons.

The younger Kirkpatrick played in Alabama's first seven games of this season, recording five tackles and one forced fumble.
