Cowboys interested in trade for Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr.

The Dallas Cowboys see their window of opportunity to make a Super Bowl run as right now. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones hasn't been shy about making a move to improve his team, and he may already be laying the groundwork for a potential in-season trade.

NFL Insider Adam Schefter says the Cowboys, along with a handful of other teams, have inquired about trading for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. Schefter also says that the Steelers are willing to listen to offers, but wouldn't deal their cornerback unless they got a strong compensation package in return.

The Cowboys front office hasn't been shy about making deals with the Steelers. They traded for George Pickens last year and acquired Broderick Jones before this season started. The team is also becoming very thin in the secondary with Cobie Durant out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury and P.J. Locke going on injured reserve.

Dallas also wants to give Christian Parker every tool he can for success, so a move for Porter Jr. would give him a prototypical, high-ceiling cornerback who could fit the scheme.

If Dallas is serious about going after a player like Porter Jr., it will truly be an all-in move with their sights set on a championship run.
