It’s Week Two in The High School Red Zone

SPARTANBURG, SC(WSPA)-Week Two in The High School Red Zone has several rivalry battles like Byrnes at Dorman and Laurens at Clinton on the schedule.

Among the other games, Spartanburg visits Greenwood and Hanna at Powdersville features two dynamic rushing games.

The top four teams in the 2A SC Prep Football Media Poll play in our area as top-ranked Strom Thurmond visits Abbeville (which is number three in 1A), Clinton is ranked second with its season opener against visiting Laurens, third-ranked Newberry travels to Emerald, and fourth-ranked Woodruff is home against Fountain Inn, which is ranked ninth in 4A.

Greer and Union County opened the weekend with a Thursday night game and the visiting Yellow Jackets (2-0) were up to the task as they forced six turnovers and Calvin McCoy (353 yards rushing in two games) carried for 146 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half, in a 52-0 Greer victory.

Union County, which has yet to score in its first two games, drops to 0-2.
