Dana White calls ex-WWE star's injury 'worst in Power Slap or UFC history'

Former WWE champion Jake Hager, known in the ring as Jack Swagger, suffered a severe injury that required emergency surgery after he was slapped by Johnny Magna during a Power Slap event in Las Vegas.

The incident occurred in the second round, when Magna delivered a powerful slap that landed across Hager's face. It is believed that one of Magna's fingers inadvertently struck Hager's left eye, prompting Hager to immediately clutch his face and inform the referee that he had been hit in the eye.

Moments later, blood began to stream from Hager's eye, resulting in the ringside doctor halting the match on the spot. Hager was rushed for emergency eye surgery to address the injury.

Dana White called the injury the "worst injury in Power Slap or UFC history," and so gruesome that he refused to let the production team air a replay.

Power Slap , a slap-fighting competition created in 2022 and co-owned by UFC president Dana White, pits two competitors against each other, each delivering open-hand strikes under strict rules. The results of the matches are decided by knockout or judges' decision.

Hager, who wrestled as Jack Swagger from 2006 to 2017, joined Power Slap in March. He won his debut by knockout in April, then suffered back-to-back stoppage losses.
