On Thursday, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered what is now being called an oblique strain at practice ahead of Atlanta's season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers . Tagovailoa went down onto the practice field briefly before hopping up and leaving the practice field.

According to reports, Cooper Rush took all the first-team reps after Tagovailoa left and according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, he is considered day-to-day.

The Falcons will put out their official practice game status report on Friday but after missing what most consider the most important practice of the week, it feels unlikely that Tagovailoa will be able to play. For the Steelers, this will mean a shift in mindset for the pass rushers going from Tagovailoa, who is left-handed, to Rush, who is right-handed.
