Clemson football's initial availability report carries 10 injuries, one being fresh. Freshman wide receiver Gordon Sellars III is the only newly announced absence ahead of Saturday night's game against Virginia Tech, while most of the remaining names have been unavailable for weeks.

Sellars suffered a concussion and entered protocol following what Dabo Swinney described as the freshman's best practice of the season. Clemson will hold him out when the Tigers host the Hokies at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver had finally worked his way back from the hamstring issue that limited him during fall camp. Swinney said Sellars made two impressive catches during practice and had established himself as Clemson's fourth receiver behind Bryant Wesco Jr., Tyler Brown and T.J. Moore.

Sellars has only three catches for eight yards this season, so Clemson is not losing a premium part of its passing game. His absence still shortens a receiver rotation that is already missing Cole Turner and reserve Chase Byrd. Turner has been away from the program since fall camp while handling a personal matter

There is some good health news from the report. Running back Jay Haynes returned against Charleston Southern for his first game action since suffering multiple knee injuries in the 2024 ACC Championship Game. Defensive tackle Kourtney Kelly also made his Clemson debut after tearing his ACL during spring practice.

Virginia Tech has its own problems up front. Offensive lineman Justin Terry is out, while Nathaniel Wright, Lucas Austin, and Montavious Cunningham are questionable. The Hokies allowed seven sacks in last week's 34-24 victory over Georgia Tech .
