Jacob Sexton injury update: Oklahoma State football OL out for season with leg injury

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State starting left tackle Jacob Sexton is out for the season with a lower right leg injury , coach Eric Morris said Tuesday.

OSU's depth chart entering Saturday's game against No. 2 Oregon (11 a.m., ESPN) lists junior Desmond Magiya or sophomore Shaun Torgeson at left tackle. Against Tulsa, Magiya was the first to replace Sexton at left tackle while Torgeson and senior Ashton Lepo took turns also.

Sexton, senior left tackle, injured his right leg on OSU's first offensive series of the season. Playing at Oklahoma last year, Sexton suffered a season-ending injury in the first game.

"Heart goes out to Jacob, a guy who has definitely been our best offensive lineman since we've been here," Morris said Saturday. "Somebody that's worked so hard this offseason to get himself back into shape. He's been plagued by injuries his whole entire career."

Morris said after the Tulsa game he will watch the film and grade his replacement options along the line.

"I didn't think we had a great answer on the edge," Morris said. "(Magiya) got beat a number of times around the edge, got a holding penalty at a crucial time in the game. So I think Sexton, obviously you lose a really good player at left tackle, that's not what you want but that's not an excuse. They took it to us in so many different areas."
