Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald drops update on Terrion Arnold amid commissioner’s exempt list stint

Mike Macdonald has made it clear that Terrion Arnold is staying prepared despite being unable to practice or play for the Seattle Seahawks at present.

The cornerback remains on the NFL's commissioner's exempt list, but his current situation has not stopped him from working with the Seahawks in other ways.

Arnold is allowed to be at the team's facility and attend meetings, providing him with an opportunity to become familiar with Seattle's defensive system while he waits for clarity on his status.

Macdonald offered an update on what Arnold has been doing during this period, highlighting the cornerback's focus on understanding the Seahawks' defence.

"He's learning the heck out of our defense," Macdonald said, according to video shared by Hawk Blogger's Brian Nemhauser on his X.

The Seahawks head coach also explained that Arnold's preparation is not limited to learning the system. Macdonald said the cornerback would "keep training and stay ready for if and when there's an opportunity."

Arnold therefore remains engaged with the team despite the restrictions surrounding his current status.

His inability to practice or play means there is still no clarity on when he can take the next step on the field. In the meantime, Seattle can continue the installation process with Arnold through meetings and his work at the team facility.

If an opportunity to return eventually arrives, the preparation Arnold is doing now could help him make the football adjustment after his time away from practice and games.
