Game Thread: TCU Football vs. West Virginia Mountaineers
Horned Frogs host Mountaineers in Big 12 battle
The TCU Horned Frogs (3-3; 1-2 Big 12) are back in action on Saturday morning in Amon G. Carter Stadium, hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers (4-3; 1-3 Big 12). It's a Homecoming celebration in Fort Worth as the Frogs return following a rivalry victory in Waco over the Baylor Bears. West Virginia is also coming off its first conference win of the season, outlasting Cincinnati with a 45-42 in Morgantown last week thanks to a 24-point 4th Quarter.
TCU enters the game as the Big 12's top defense, leading the league in points allowed, giving up just 12.2 points per game. The unit is powered by Koron Hayward, leading the Big 12 with 4.5 sacks. The Frogs offense has struggled however, ranking 15th in the league in points and dead last in the league in rushing.
West Virginia meanwhile is the top rushing team in the league, powered by one of the nation's top rushers, former Horned Frog Cam Cook who averages more per game individually (119 yards) than TCU does as a team (110 yards). Mountaineer QB Michael Hawkins has also been unleashed over the last few games, including a 464 yard, 3 TD performance last week against the Bearcats.
Which team will pick up its second Big 12 victory of the campaign and which will fall further into the league's basement? Join the conversation in the comment section below as we ride the game day rollercoaster together. Go Frogs!
