Raiders news: Kirk Cousins gushes over Ashton Jeanty's dominance vs. Dolphins

The Las Vegas Raiders were the Week 1 winners over the Miami Dolphins . Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins made his debut under center, and he helped the team take this win. But the main focal point of this victory was running back Ashton Jeanty .

Jeanty was a force the entire game against Miami. He affected the game both on the ground and through the air. He was the leading receiver and leading rusher for the Raiders on Sunday. It led Vegas to a 27-13 win to open the year.

After the game, Cousins could not contain his pride and excitement over the performance given by Jeanty.

"He's very natural in the pass game. Runs hard. He's a great player, great talent. Great pick by this team. Looking forward to using him. Gotta keep him healthy this year," the Raiders quarterback told NFL on FOX on Sunday.

Jeanty found the endzone twice, both in the passing game. He caught six passes for 45 yards. On the ground, he racked up 102 yards on 23 carries. He helped Las Vegas keep some distance between them and the Dolphins on the scoreboard.

Cousins's debut with Las Vegas was a bit rocky, even with the win. He tossed three touchdown passes against the Dolphins defense. However, Miami's defense also picked off the veteran quarterback twice.

Still, the Raiders won this one, and that's a ton of momentum heading into the future. Vegas will look to continue their early season winning ways on September 20 when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers on the road.
