‘I know I’m going to be important’ – Dani Olmo not worried by lack of Barcelona starts

Dani Olmo says he's not worried about his lack of starts this season for Barcelona as he knows there is plenty of football to be played and that he "will be important."

The Spain star has started only three times this season and has been asked how he feels about the situation in a new interview with La Vanguardia.

"Yeah, I'm fine. The season is very long; I know I'm going to be important and that's how I feel," he said. "We had time off and Flick has been dosing the minutes at Barça, rotating a lot. I feel very good and ready for everything."

Olmo also spoke about his form at the World Cup and how he wants to replicate that with his club side.

"It is true that in the World Cup I felt very good and I made good matches, a great tournament," he added. "That level is the one I want to show at Barça. I have had some episodes of little continuity, but I have been very well, and I think I can still contribute much more to my game, both with the team and with Barça. That's my goal. "In the end, the systems are different. In Barça we have more premises to fulfill because the attack is a little more positional, within a certain freedom. "Here, in the selection, we are given more freedom to change positions and move. Neither better nor worse, they are different ideas, and in both I find myself perfectly. I think this year I have started in a very good way and I want to continue adding."

Olmo is now with the Spain squad and will be hoping to start Saturday's friendly against Spain.
