Former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Joey Porter Sr. broke his silence on his son Joey Porter Jr. 's trade to the Dallas Cowboys. After a long, contentious contract negotiation, the Pittsburgh Steelers shipped Porter Jr. to Dallas late Wednesday night in exchange for a 2028 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-rounder.

Porter Sr. shared a clip of him going to the Cowboys game on Sunday, sporting his son's No. 25 jersey.

"Heading to the game. How bout them, Cowboys! We dem boyz!" Porter said in a video posted on his Instagram.

Porter Sr. is a Steelers legend. He was inducted into the team's Hall of Honor last December. Seeing Porter Sr. in a Cowboys jersey and saying, "How bout them, Cowboys! We dem boyz!" certainly ruffled Steelers fans' feathers on social media.

The Cowboys defeated the Houston Texans, 34-30, on Sunday. Porter had a strong performance in his Cowboys' debut, too.

On 16 coverage snaps, Porter allowed 0 receptions for 0 yards on 0 targets, according to SumerSports .

The Steelers were expecting Porter to play on Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns, but after two days without an issue, Porter said his back flared up. He was ruled out for the game. That's when the Steelers had enough and traded Porter.

Porter revealed in his introductory press conference with the Cowboys that he felt disrespected during the negotiation process with the Steelers.

Porter, who's in the final year of his rookie deal, was seeking a new contract with the Steelers. But the two sides could not iron out a deal.

"Definitely, definitely. It was a hard process, a lot of ups and down. Definitely felt disrespected and undervalued," Porter said. "But that's old news now. That's how I look at it. I'm onto new beginnings and new chapters, that's how I'm looking at it."

Porter feels the Cowboys are showing him more value than the Steelers did.

"It was the value. I didn't feel like it was really that over there," Porter said. "[Dallas] is showing me that they value me more over here. That's really all I need to show what I can do."

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, Porter and his entire family have always been Cowboys fans.

"My whole family been Dallas fans our whole lives. Even my dad was a Dallas fan, my mom and everything. So this ain't the first time we're gonna have stars in the house. But now that we're actually here, they're going to rep this pretty hard, so I'm excited about that," Porter said .

Porter Jr. had the receipts, too. He posted a photo of his dad and mom wearing Cowboys jerseys in 1995.
