The NFL will make a decision on any potential discipline for Jed York ‘soon’

49ers owner Jed York will miss the home opener to avoid any distractions

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York will miss his second game in a row, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. York didn't make the trip with the team to Australia and will now miss the 49ers' home opener.

He's staying away to avoid any distractions, per Schefter. York pleaded to two misdemeanor charges on August 24 after being arrested in Ohio. He was arrested last month on suspicion of engaging in prostitution .

According to Columbiana County court records in Ohio, York allegedly responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website where he "arranged to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for $140."

The original prostitution charge was amended to misdemeanor disorderly conduct as part of the plea agreement resolving the case. The other misdemeanor was possessing criminal tools, which wound up being York's cell phone.

Schefter said the NFL is expected to make a decision on any potential discipline for York "soon." Back in August, around the time the incident occurred, the NFL said it was "aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy."
