Jeff Hafley issues challenge to Dolphins pass rusher

The Miami Dolphins finally got to the quarterback in Week 4, and now their coach has a challenge for one of their top pass rushers.

The Miami Dolphins went three weeks without taking down a quarterback, but in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings , Miami's front sacked former first-overall pick Kyler Murray four times, pushing the offense back 34 total yards.

Among those who were effective at getting after the quarterback on Sunday for the Dolphins was linebacker Chop Robinson, who finished the game with three quarterback hits and a sack. While this was a strong performance for the former first-round pick, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley issued a challenge to the pass rusher on Wedensday.

"He's confident," Hafley said. "I talked to him about it last night. He's getting into a rhythm. He's playing again, and he's playing fast. He's practicing fast, and he understands that how he prepares is how he's going to play. That was really the topic of our conversation. I wasn't surprised that he played well because of the way he practiced. Now, can he do it again? That's the challenge. Can he go out and practice that way to give him a chance to play the same way he did because if he doesn't, he won't.

"Now, it's time to put the pressure [on him]. I got it. Congrats. You had your 10 pressures and your sack. I love it. But can you do it again? Because if you don't then it doesn't matter. The only way to do that is to come out today and have the best practice he's had all year because now people are going to be watching him, and they're going to be trying to get after him a little bit just like we talked about at tight end. There are going to be some teams that say 'I'm not going to let Chop have a sack,' and it might open it up for somebody else. That's how the game works, so he has to go out today, and he's got to have a great practice."

Miami will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday for an AFC showdown, and the Dolphins' front will need to get after quarterback Joe Burrow, especially if wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are healthy enough to play.

Cincinnati has allowed sacks on 5.42% of their dropbacks, which is the 14th-best rate in the league.
