Aside from taking care of business in Week 1, Kansas City also registered a milestone on offense .

"Fun fact: Tonight is the first time the Chiefs have rushed for 200+ yards at Arrowhead since 2016," posted StatMuse.

The Chiefs rushed for 220 yards, led by Walker. Mahomes ran for 23 yards on seven carries, while Emmett Johnson logged 24 yards on eight carries.

Last season, Kansas City only rushed for 106.6 yards per outing, which was 25th in the NFL.

Before the season, coach Andy Reid hinted at a major role for Walker in looking to improve their ground attack.

"He has skill, which I think we were all able to see when he was in Seattle ( Seahawks ). He can catch the ball, he can block, he can run the ball, obviously. We'll see how it all rolls out. But I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what he does and cutting him loose a little bit," said Reid in a report from KC Kingdom's Ernesto Cova.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce also made history against the Broncos by tallying the second-most receiving yards by a tight end, surpassing Jason Witten .

Kansas City will try to continue its momentum in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts .
