The Virginia Cavaliers are getting a key defender back in the fold as Kam Robinson seeks a major return ahead of the team's Week 2 matchup.
Robinson is going through the senior campaign of his collegiate career with the Cavaliers. He made his way up the ranks to become a full-time starter, standing out with his ability to stop opposing teams from creating big plays.
He was on pace for a strong campaign in 2025 before he tore his ACL late in the season. Robinson rehabbed for the entire offseason, regaining his form throughout the summer and fall camp. While he couldn't take part in the season opener against NC State, he did get positive news about his return for the Cavaliers.

"Virginia LB Kam Robinson will make his return tonight against Norfolk State. Had been a game-time decision against NC State in Week 0 but will play tonight. Suffered a torn ACL last November. He has 15 career tackles for loss," football insider Pete Nakos wrote on Friday.
What lies ahead for Kam Robinson, Virginia
It is great news for Virginia to get a starting linebacker back in their rotation. Kam Robinson had a solid impact in their success before going down with the ACL injury.
Virginia finished with an 11-3 record that included a 7-1 display in its ACC matchups. Robinson played in eight of those games, recording 64 tackles, 4.5 TFL, two sacks, two interceptions, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery.
Virginia performed great in its opener despite not having Robinson's services. They coasted to a 34-8 win over the NC State Wolfpack, picking up where they left off after a strong 2025 campaign.
The No. 25 Cavaliers gear up for their clash against Norfolk State, commencing on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. ET. After that, they remain at home for their rivalry clash against the West Virginia Mountaineers on Sept. 19.
