LeBron James admits he is amazed by V.J. Edgecombe's overall talent and attitude

Now that LeBron James is playing for the Philadelphia 76ers , he has a new set of teammates that he is getting to know. Among them is second-year standout V.J. Edgecombe , who has already impressed LeBron in the few weeks they've been teammates.

For a young player to impress James, it probably means that Edgecombe has done a lot of things that just tick all the boxes. He already showed that he was mature beyond his years during his rookie year, and it seems that has impressed James.

LeBron James loves what he has seen from V.J. Edgecombe so far

In his rookie season, Edgecombe averaged an impressive 16 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. Considering he was not the star player, he already impressed during his first year in the league.

Now that he is playing with more stars, his numbers will probably dip. However, he will be learning from two Finals MVPs in LeBron and Jaylen Brown . In addition to that, he still has Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid to guide him too.

As the new leader of the 76ers , LeBron has already made connections with his new teammates. Edgecombe has already made a strong first impression, and that could go a long way when he is James' teammate moving forward.

"They say he was actually one of the leaders of the team as a 20-year-old rookie, and not in a disrespectful manner. It's not like he was just speaking just to be speaking or thinking he's better than this guy. No, it's just that they say he speaks with an intelligent confidence," James said about Edgecombe on the Mind the Game podcast .

"He's a guy that, you know, you got to put all the pieces together, but he's a guy that still has leaps to make, you know, with his athleticism, shot-making, defense."

James loves what he has seen from Edgecombe, and that is a big deal for the 76ers' future. There will come a time when Edgecombe is one of the franchise players, but since he is only in his second season, he will be a sponge who learns from his veteran teammates.
