76ers news: Jaylen Brown shares moment with viral fan

Jaylen Brown said an official goodbye to Boston as he heads to Philadelphia to fulfill his NBA duties for the 76ers. But before making his final address to the Celtics fans, the star forward met his passionate 6-year-old fan, Gio .

In a post shared by Courtside Buzz, Brown could be seen holding Gio in his arms, while this time around, the young fan was in the 76ers colors. When the video first went viral, Gio was wearing a Boston jersey, pleading with the former Celtics superstar to return to the city.

Earlier last month, a video on Instagram went viral in which Gio was seen crying passionately when his mother asked him why he was sad and whether he would still love his favorite NBA player after moving to a different city.

"I love you so much. You mean a lot to me, and you are my favorite player in the whole NBA. And thank you for everything that you did with the Celtics," Gio was heard saying in the video.

The Instagram video had close to 10 million views, and fans started talking about it. Brown took matters into his own hands and shared a heartfelt message to Gio and commented on the video.

"It's ok lil bro ❤️ we will always be friends," he wrote.

And about eight weeks after the heartfelt exchange, both of them were recently reunited during Brown's farewell party .

However, now with the 76ers , Brown will join Philadelphia alongside LeBron James, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey. With the 2026-27 NBA regular season kicking off on October 20, they will face the defending champion New York Knicks in the season opener.
