Jermaine Eluemunor’s calf issue headlines list of Giants’ Week 5 injuries
Eluemunor, Colton Hood, Tyler Nubin all forced to leave Sunday’s game.
New York Giants right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor is undergoing an MRI on his calf on Monday , after injuring it during Sunday's 27-27 tie against the Washington Commanders.
The veteran right tackle played 44 snaps before suffering the injury, and having to be helped off the field by teammates Aaron Stinnie and John Michael Schmitz.
Second-year player Marcus Mbow took over at right tackle, playing the final 45 offensive snaps. Pro Football Focus charged Mbow with two pressures allowed in 36 pass-blocking snaps. If Eluemunor misses time, rookie J.C. Davis would likely take over as the swing tackle. Davis has been inactive for all five games this season.
Cornerback Colton Hood suffered a concussion making a tackle on a kickoff late in the third quarter. How quickly he progresses through the league's concussion protocol will determine whether or not he will be available this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
Nubin suffered a neck injury in the fourth quarter when he was hit by Washington center Lucas Patrick while trying to help make a tackle.
More on all of these injuries as information becomes available.
