Jim Nantz, J.J. Watt share awkward moment in second week together

Jim Nantz and J.J. Watt called the Week 2 matchup between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers . It was the duo's second regular season game together following Tony Romo 's offseason arrest. Romo's future with CBS remains up in the air while the network watches how things progress between Nantz and Watt.

If Sunday's game was an indication, they still have some work to do. During the first quarter Watt shared a story about a meeting they had with Steelers' coach Mike McCarthy . After the Week 1 win he was surprised with a game ball from Aaron Rodgers in the locker room. The story obviously made an impression on both Nantz and Watt.

"He talked to us about how emotional he got after that first win when getting the game ball from Aaron Rodgers and just how special it was," Watt told the audience.

Nantz, without missing a beat added, "He got the game ball too, in the locker room from Aaron Rodgers after. It was quite a moment. It was captured."

So maybe he did miss a beat. Specifically the beat where Watt just told the same story. This kind of thing does happen when someone gets distracted, but to hear such a clear example of someone not listening in the booth is shocking.

Still, these two have only been together a few weeks at this point. The rest of the call was perfectly fine and other than this very clear hiccup, it's been a good start to the season for Watt . There's no reason this pairing won't work the entire season, but Nantz should probably make an effort to hear his partner in the near future.
