‘Can do without me’: Brock Bowers makes blunt admission after Raiders’ 3-0 start

Brock Bowers made a blunt admission after returning from injury to help the Las Vegas Raiders beat the New Orleans Saints 35-27 and move to 3-0.

The tight end had missed the first two games of the season but wasted little time making an impact, catching 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown.

Bowers' return came as the Raiders continued their perfect start, with wins on the road in each of their last two games.

Speaking to "Raiders Gameday" after the victory, Bowers admitted he was not surprised by how well the offence had performed without him.

"I wasn't surprised about the offence the last two weeks," Bowers said. "They come out there, they execute every single day, and we got some great playmakers out there. As you can see, they can do without me. It was great to be back and flying around and being with the team."

Bowers also reflected on what it means to be 3-0, praising the Raiders for producing complementary football on both sides of the ball.

"… It feels amazing being 3-0. Going on the road the last two weeks, winning two tough road games. I think we're playing some good football both ways. Defence has been balling out, getting turnovers everywhere. So yeah, it's really just complementary football."

Kirk Cousins also praised Bowers after his first regular-season game with the quarterback, although he admitted the pair still have plenty of work to do together.

"He's an outstanding player," Cousins said. "Klint did a great job with the scheme, getting him opportunities. I'm still learning him. I would have to say that we don't have as many banked reps as I would like, but I think I can get accustomed to a guy like that pretty quickly."

Cousins finished with 248 passing yards and three touchdowns, while the Raiders overcame 27 points from New Orleans .

The challenge now gets tougher, with Las Vegas returning home to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.
