2028 blue-chip LB Landon Miller locks in Oregon game day visit

The Oregon Ducks are continuing to stack game day visits for the fall, and they are turning to a familiar high school program in California to get ahead in a key 2028 recruiting race.

Four-star linebacker Landon Miller is set to make a trip up to Eugene. Miller has lined up several visits for the fall, including a trip to Oregon on Oct. 10 when the Ducks host UCLA. Miller has also scheduled visits to California, USC and Notre Dame, and is working on visits to Michigan and Ohio State as well.

Oregon is an early contender for Miller after establishing a connection with the De La Salle tackler. He has already made multiple trips to visit the campus and is regularly in contact with Dan Lanning , defensive coordinator Chris Hampton and inside linebackers coach Brian Michalowski . The Ducks have done good work out of De La Salle High School in the past, and Matthew Johnson , a De La Salle alum, is in line for a big role on the Ducks' defense this season.

Miller is the No. 11 linebacker in the 2028 class, per Rivals. USC and Ohio State could be the biggest competition in the race for the Ducks. He finished his sophomore season with 38 tackles, two sacks and an interception, despite missing five games with an injury. Miller is quick and athletic, and could play multiple roles in Oregon's defense well.

Oregon is working hard to secure top talents from California early in the 2028 recruiting cycle. The Ducks have seen more talent stay home with USC, UCLA and California in recent years, but the Ducks are still recruiting well in the state. The Ducks are also in on four-star safety Ca'ron Williams , four-star quarterback Josiah Boyd , four-star safety Jordan Hicks , and several more.

There is plenty of time for these recruitments to play out, but the Ducks have made a point to establish contact earlier in the process. After locking down visits for important Big Ten matchups in Eugene, the Ducks should be able to send a statement to the California recruits, including Miller, especially against UCLA.

The Ducks have stacked visits for some of their big matchups, and UCLA is shaping up to be a big recruiting day. In addition to Miller, Oregon will also host several top 2028 recruits, including wideout Jayce Halasz , quarterback Tristin Gaines , edge rusher Kameron McGee , and many more.
