A former No. 52 overall pick out of San Diego State University, Jalen McDaniels carved out a solid role with the Charlotte Hornets after being drafted. In his first three and a half seasons with the team, McDaniels excelled as a 3-and-D wing, providing length and secondary scoring off the bench.
In 174 contests with the Hornets, McDaniels averaged 7.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.4 blocks while shooting 46.3% from the field and 34.2% from beyond the arc. At the 2022-23 trade deadline, McDaniels was moved in a three-team trade that brought Svi Mykhailiuk to Charlotte. McDaniels, brother of Minnesota Timberwolves standout Jaden McDaniels, would play two more seasons, one with the Toronto Raptors and a brief four-game stint with the Washington Wizards . Currently 28 years old, McDaniels plays professionally in Japan.
