What do Central Texas high school football coaches think of each other?

The American-Statesman sent out a questionnaire earlier this month with eight questions to two dozen local coaches. Fifteen responded on the condition their answers would be anonymous. Here are the two questions related to other coaches with a summary of their answers.

Note: Coaches could not vote for themselves.

Vandegrift's Drew Sanders was far and away the top vote-getter here with seven. Lake Travis' Hank Carter finished second with four and Weiss' Malcolm Hill garnered two. Westlake's Tony Salazar, Stony Point's Dustin Pleasant and Dripping Springs' Galen Zimmerman all received one vote.

Who is the most underrated coach in the area?

Twelve coaches received votes here, with only Bowie's Jeff Ables and Vista Ridge's Chad Scott getting more than one. Ables and Scott each received two. Sanders, Zimmerman, Cedar Ridge's Bryan Vardeman, Lehman's Chris Castillo, Travis' Joe Frank Martinez, Cedar Park's Michael Quintero, Hays' Mark Torres, Connally's Charles Burton and Glenn's Scott Hermes all got one vote.
