Nottingham Forest complete the signing of Liam Delap

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of striker Liam Delap on a five-year deal for a reported package of £50 million.

Delap joins the club after a difficult first season at Chelsea , who he joined after impressing for Ipswich Town. Indeed, the striker played 47 times for the Blues across all competitions, scoring just three times.

However, Delap now has a chance to get back to his best form at Forest after signing until 2031.

"I really can't wait to get started, this is a massive club with a big history," the 23-year-old said on his arrival at the club.

"I spoke to the manager and I like his way, I think he can be the one to really help me develop and make that next step and hopefully I can bring goals here.

"I can't wait to hear the noise at the City Ground and have the fans on my side because I know how loud and important they are.

"As a team we can build something really strong and the main aim is to challenge and be a top club in the Premier League."

Delap could be in line for his Forest debut on Saturday as Oliver Glasner 's side face the difficult trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool .
