The Argument For These 2 WWE Stars Winning Money in the Bank Ladder Matches
WWE Money in the Bank is this weekend, and the field is set for two decidedly different ladder matches.
WWE Money in the Bank is this weekend, and the field is set for two decidedly different ladder matches.
On the men's side, most of the participants have already set their sights on Sami Zayn and the Undisputed WWE Championship. Meanwhile, Bron Breakker is desperate to prove he can eclipse Oba Femi as the next top star.
A win on Saturday would erase his 2026 struggles and give him a chance to pull a page out of his mentor's playbook. Although Seth Rollins became his bitter rival, The Visionary famously affirmed what the Money in the Bank briefcase could do for his career.
Conversely, many of the women are relatively new to this stipulation match. This gives Tiffany Stratton, the 2024 winner, a slight advantage, but anyone could climb the ladder to earn the opportunity of a lifetime.
According to MyBookie , Roxanne Perez is the favorite to win the women's ladder match, and Breakker is favored to win the men's. Here's our case for both young participants to finally step into the spotlight this year.
Roxanne Perez Must Leave The Judgment Day
Ever since WWE signed Perez in 2022, she has been earmarked as a future Superstar. The Prodigy stood out in Ring of Honor's fledgling women's division before Tony Khan purchased the company around the same time.
As such, the inaugural ROH Women's World Champion was a major acquisition because she would've been an asset to the promotion under Khan. Her heel run on NXT confirmed that the 24-year-old was more than just a great in-ring performer.
Perez topped many year-end lists in 2024 as a lynchpin for the developmental brand. Initially, her inevitable jump to the main roster was promising because she excelled in multi-woman matches against some of the brightest stars.
However, it's hard to deny that she lost some momentum as a member of The Judgment Day. The stable has outlived its usefulness, and most of its members would be better off if it ultimately imploded.
WWE has been teasing a split for so long, and the Money in the Bank contract could finally give Perez the means to break off on her own. She has had tension with Liv Morgan since the group ousted Finn Bálor in March.
It's time to pay off that lingering plot thread in an interesting way. Even more, the company's main title picture could use a reset, and this is the perfect time to see if Perez can live up to the hype.
2026 has been a tough year for Breakker. Most of us expected his turn on Rollins to culminate in a crowning moment, but that never materialized.
Even worse, his Royal Rumble appearance lasted 10 seconds, and the storyline didn't even lead to a match at WrestleMania 42. Although Breakker defeated his former mentor at Backlash, their feud didn't elevate him as many expected.
Their steel cage match at Night of Champions was strong. However, it kind of came and went, and Rollins quickly moved on to a highly anticipated showdown with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
It certainly didn't help that Femi emerged as the future of the company after his trilogy of matches with Brock Lesnar. In a matter of months, The Ruler has become a fan favorite and shot ahead of him in the pecking order.
This is a bit baffling because WWE has positioned Breakker as the next big thing since his debut on NXT 2.0. When he betrayed Rollins last year, that seemed to signal that the company was ready to push him into the main event scene.
Instead, the creative team has taken several half-measures with him that left us scratching our heads. The men's Money in the Bank ladder match provides the latest attempt to guess whether he will leap to the next level or languish in The Vision.
The problem is Penta is hotter right now due to his world heavyweight championship match with Reigns in Mexico City. Kevin Owens is also a much more interesting option because of his history with Zayn, and he is long overdue for another world title run.
Still, Breakker needs this win more than the two of them. The 28-year-old must find a way to salvage this year and put himself in the same conversation with Femi.
He didn't make an impact at Royal Rumble, and he didn't compete in the King of the Ring tournament. It's now or never for "The Unpredictable Badass".
