Rice vs. Western Michigan: How to watch, date, time, TV channel
Rice looks to rebound from its worst loss in five years as the Owls return home to face Western Michigan.
Rice returns home looking to rebound from the Owls' worst loss in five years.
The Owls (1-1) host Western Michigan on Saturday at Rice Stadium after losing 52-0 to No. 3 Notre Dame last week in South Bend, Ind. That was Rice's most lopsided defeat since a 58-0 loss at Texas in 2021 .
Western Michigan (1-1) comes in at .500, but the Broncos' loss is arguably the most controversial in college football this season. A heavily scrutinized clock review granted Michigan an extra second it used to throw the winning Hail Mary to beat Western Michigan 13-12 and avoid a huge upset in Ann Arbor.
Rice and Western Michigan have played just once before, a 38-14 Owls win in the 2008 Texas Bowl at Reliant Stadium.
