The Boston Bruins put up six for their sixth win in seven games.

The Bruins cruised past the Nashville Predators last night, extending their point streak to seven games with a 6-0 win. Michael DiPietro made 28 saves for his first NHL shutout, but the night carried a little more meaning than that milestone.

Elsewhere around the league, we're seeing a lot of Connor. The one in Edmonton made history, while the one in Winnipeg (for now?) will see his suspension end today. There is a trade board, a report on a Blue Jackets left winger, and an update from Kyle Dubas on Ben Kindel. The Flyers may have some expendable trade pieces, and a couple of goalies made their debut last night.

Happy Friday, catch up on Bruins and league news in today's Daily Bean :

BRUINS WIN : The Bruins (8-2-1) extended their point streak to seven with a 6-0 thumping of the Nashville Predators (3-3-3). David Pastrnak scored twice, Charlie McAvoy finished with four assists, and Michael DiPietro made 28 saves for his first NHL shutout. Five different Bruins found the back of the net in the win.

POSTGAME : Michael DiPietro's first shutout came on a pretty meaningful night. The Bruins hosted Hockey Fights Cancer night on Thursday, and DiPietro, who lost his mother to cancer when he was five, spoke about what the milestone meant to him and his family.

Ahead of warmups last night, the Bruins placed a jersey on their bench in memory of Alex Gimenez, the Bruins' director of hockey operations, collective bargaining agreement, who passed away after a battle with cancer in September.

NEXT UP : The Bruins have the day off today. They will hold a morning skate at TD Garden before closing the season series with San Jose tomorrow night.

Sportsnet : Another night, another milestone for Connor McDavid . He's up to 30 points in 10 games, becoming the fourth player in NHL history to hit that mark, joining Wayne Gretzky , Mario Lemieux , and Mike Bossy . He also had another five-point outing, and he and Lemieux are the only two players in league history to have three five-point nights in the first 10 games of a season.

McDavid is on pace (and I say this very lightly) for 260 points this season.

TSN : Today is the day Connor Hellebuyck 's suspension is lifted, and he has to complete a physical in order to be restored to the active roster. The Jets play in the Heritage Classic on Sunday, and Darren Dreger reported that there could be an agreement to postpone Hellebuyck's physical until after the game "out of respect to the Heritage Classic."

Sportsnet : Trade board! Why not? It's still early, but Nick Kypreos released the second trade board of the season. Connor Hellebuyck and Dylan Larkin obviously dominate the headline, but a few Bruins (one current and two former) made it to the list.

TSN : The Blue Jackets are taking calls on Dmitri Voronkov , according to Pierre LeBrun. Voronkov has two assists in six games this season, and he finished last season with 32 points (17-15–32) in 63 games. He is signed for the rest of the season at $4.175M and will be an RFA this summer.

Philly Hockey Now : The Flyers have rattled off three straight wins after losing their first eight, and their young players have been a big part of the turnaround. Will James looks at whether the youth movement could make some veterans expendable.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now : Penguins GM Kyle Dubas provided an update on forward Ben Kindel yesterday. The 19-year-old collapsed 10 minutes into the Penguins' flight home with what was diagnosed as a vasovagal episode. Kindel returned to Pittsburgh and will go through the NHL's return-to-play protocols. Dan Kingerski was there and has the update on Kindel.

Montreal Hockey Now : Nick Suzuki will miss 2-to-4 weeks with an upper-body injury, the Canadiens announced. Marc Dumont writes that this is the "ultimate stress test," with the injury to the captain coming at a bad time for a team off to an underwhelming start.

Florida Hockey Now : Cooper Black is tall. Like, Chara tall. Black became the tallest goaltender (6-foot-9) to suit up in an NHL game when he made his debut for the Florida Panthers last night. It did not go so well, as the Panthers could not find the back of the net and were handed their second loss in as many nights .

Detroit Hockey Now : Speaking of goalie debuts, Michal Postava also made his last night. The Red Wings' goaltender got his first NHL minutes in the third period of Detroit's 5-2 win over Vancouver last night, jumping in for the injured John Gibson after 40 minutes.

And just one more on goalies: what an unbelievable save by Yaroslav Askarov last night.
