The Auburn Tigers became the second team in as many weeks to upset the top-ranked team as an unranked squad when they downed Georgia on the road last Saturday.

Auburn's hard work met opportunity last Saturday, and many outlets are starting to buy stock in the Tigers. USA TODAY's Paul Myerberg is one of those. Myerberg boosted Auburn in his weekly college football re-rank , sliding the Tigers up 12 spots to No. 26 after its upset win over Georgia. The loss sent Georgia to No. 4 behind Miami, Ohio State, and BYU. Myerberg's top four mirrors the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.

The win over Georgia pushes Auburn to its highest ranking in Myerberg's weekly feature. Auburn's previous high was No. 30 after the Week 4 win over Vanderbilt , and Auburn has risen 37 spots from its No. 63 preseason ranking .

Three of Auburn's final six opponents are in the re-rank's top 25 this week, including this week's opponent. The LSU Tigers rank No. 21 after shutting out Mississippi State last weekend. Auburn will also face No. 7 Ole Miss and No. 16 Alabama in the top 25, while Mississippi State ranks No. 27 and Arkansas checks in at No. 85. Samford, Auburn's FCS opponent, is not included in Myerberg's weekly re-rank.

Auburn will look to boost its stock again this Saturday when it faces LSU at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC.
