The Tuscaloosa News is back with our Athletes of the Week, this time with action from Aug. 22-28.
Readers can decide which athlete from the Tuscaloosa area had the most impressive performance each week. Last week, Brookwood volleyball's Lizzy Graham won the girls poll with 52.4% of the vote for her 12 assists and six aces in a 3-1 win over Central.
Nominees for athlete of the week come from our top performers list the week before. Coaches and team stat keepers can send in stats to nominate players for top performer lists to sports@tuscaloosanews.com by 11 p.m. Friday.

Tuscaloosa News Girls Athlete of the Week nominees
American Christian Academy flag football's Kenzie Mitchell caught six passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns and added an interception in a 41-25 win over Sipsey Valley.
American Christian Academy volleyball's Mia Ridgway had 26 assists, seven digs, three kills and two blocks as ACA beat Corner and lost to Hillcrest in a varsity tri-match.
Demopolis volleyball's Bradlee Cannon had 19 kills, 19 assists, 16 digs and 13 aces in a 3-2 loss to Jackson.
Northridge volleyball's Avery Warren had 46 assists, 47 digs, 27 kills, 11 aces and eight blocks across five matches at the Boddie Tournament.
Northside flag football's Baylee Appling completed 18-of-30 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns, threw three extra-point conversions and caught a 3-yard touchdown pass in a 39-0 win over Brookwood.
