Caleb Banks is stepping into his first round draft stock
Caleb Banks made plays on Sunday and the Vikings took notice of it.
The Minnesota Vikings ' defense came out to play and kept the Bears ' offense from getting going. The weather made things messy, but the Vikings did just enough to let Will Reichard 's leg do the work.
They made plays at critical moments and contained the Bears ' offense overall. While Caleb Williams had a tough time, D'Andre Swift and their run game didn't do much better. One reason they struggled was that rookie and top pick by the Vikings in April, Caleb Banks, played more snaps and made them count in Week 2.
Speaking to the media after the game , head coach Kevin O'Connell made sure to offer his praise to Banks.
"The physical talent's clearly there, and the upside is there for us all to see, and we're just going to keep pushing him. I think (Defensive Running Game Coordinator Ryan) Nielsen doing a great job with him, but we've got to keep it going and see where his ascension can get to."
So far, both Banks and Domonique Orange have played exceptionally well up front. Both seem like they are poised for long tenures with the team and they are enjoying the youth infusion on defense.
