Maple Leafs, Rangers, Canadiens Top Sportico's 2026 NHL Franchise Valuations, Full Rankings Revealed

The Toronto Maple Leafs may have missed the playoffs last season, but they at least retained one title.

Sportico estimates the Leafs are the most valuable NHL franchise at $4.8 billion, a 13 percent increase from 2025. The New York Rangers are the only other team into $4 billion territory.

The Calgary Flames had the biggest jump, climbing five spots to 14th, while the New York Islanders saw the largest growth in their valuation. They increased by 40 percent to $2.7 billion.

That comes after Sportico's Kurt Badenhausen reported the Islanders ownership group sold off equity stakes valuing the franchise at $3 billion.

The Dallas Stars went in the opposite direction. While their $2.17 billion valuation is up from last year, they dropped five spots. The uncertainty over their arena situation — they're pursuing a new venue in Plano — might be impacting Sportico's financial math.

Should the Stars succeed with the Plano plan, their valuation could look much different.
