'Safeguarding is not just about harassment': Neetal Narang

NEW DELHI: At the Asian Games in Japan, president of the Softball Association of India, Neetal Narang, will assume the responsibility of a safeguarding officer.An IOC and OCA-certified safeguarding officer, Neetal has undergone several certification courses conducted by the continental body over the past two years.“Safeguarding is not just about a few aspects like sexual harassment or bullying. We deal with a wider aspect of issues like physical, psychological and sexual abuse, harassment, neglect, discrimination and bullying. We tend to normalise or brush under the carpet issues like body shaming, which will also come under the safeguarding officer’s purview,” Neetal told TOI.Get the latest Sports News and Live updates.
