VJ Edgecombe was left with a bloody nose after an accidental elbow by LeBron James during the Philadelphia 76ers' win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Sixers were involved in an eventful game at home. They got off to a rough start and were even booed by their own supporters at one stage.

However, they turned it around in the end in fine fashion, with Edgecombe playing his part despite injuring his nose.

VJ Edgecombe jokes LeBron James could've bought him a new nose if the injury was serious

Jarrett Allen of the Cavaliers missed a free throw when there were just four minutes left in the frame.

As he almost always is, James rose high to get his hands on the ball, but he was pushed from behind by Donovan Mitchell, and that led to a loose-ball foul call.

During that action, when The King was pushed while up in the air, his left elbow caught Edgecombe flush in the nose, and he appeared to be in a lot of pain.

Thankfully, the 21-year-old was not too badly hurt and was able to continue. After the game, he confirmed that there was no serious injury before cracking a joke.

He said: "Thank God there's nothing bad, but if it was, he (LeBron James) could buy me a new nose.

"I can walk. I can shoot. I can see a little bit for right now… I'm going to play regardless. It's just a little blood running out."

Edgecombe's nose will make the headlines, but his performance against the Cavaliers deserves a lot of praise.

The 21-year-old scored 11 points, seven rebounds and picked up six assists to help the Sixers overturn a 29-point deficit to win the game.
