Martin Perez to be placed on Injured List with lower back inflammation

We received injury news from Walt Weiss this afternoon. Ronnie's fine, but Martin Perez is not .

Perez only threw 79 pitches in his last start. There didn't appear to be any signs of struggle, so perhaps this has been an issue for some time. Hey, at least it's not the elbow. Martin Perez has thrown 142 innings of 3.04/4.31/4.52 ball this season, but his postseason appears in doubt and perhaps JR Ritchie may make the postseason roster after all.
