The way 49ers wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling suddenly ended his route and started limping on one leg had everyone thinking the worst.

Stribling has an injured left ankle, coach Kyle Shanahan said after the 49ers' 27-7 win over the Rams, but the rookie's Achilles is intact.

Stribling will undergo further medical testing to determine the severity of the injury.

He injured his ankle early in the game and was questionable to return, but after running up and down the sideline, Stribling did return.

With 7:16 remaining in the first half, though, Stribling pulled up while running a route. He could not put any weight on his left leg and needed help to get to the sideline medical tent. Eventually, Stribling was carted to the X-ray room.
