WATCH: Ohio State coach Ryan Day discusses the win over Illinois

Ohio State opened up Big Ten play in grand fashion by taking the Illinois Fighting Illini behind the woodshed to the tune of a 42-19 score. The offense was great, with the Julian Sayin -to- Jeremiah Smith connection resulting in four touchdowns, and while the defense gave up a bushel of yards, it only surrendered 19 points, which is less than the star-studded Buckeye defense allowed Illinois last season.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day met with the media in Columbus as he always does after the game and answered questions from inquisitive reporters on several topics. Ohio State will now get back to practice and prepare to travel to Iowa City to take on an Iowa team that should present quite the away game challenge. We'll have more on that throughout the upcoming week.
