While appearing on "TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle," Gronkowski found himself answering an unexpected question about the type of woman who might be a good match for his longtime friend Tom Brady.

The question immediately sent Gronk into classic Gronk mode.

Gronkowski agreed but took the answer a step further. "Sweet, got a great soul, very positive energy… Someone like my mother, she's very sweet," Gronkowski said. "Not my mom, but someone like my mom! She would be like that's the best birthday present ever!"

The comment brought plenty of laughs, but it also highlighted the playful relationship the two former teammates have maintained long after their playing careers.
