Alabama football 's struggles continued on Saturday as the Tennessee Volunteers handed the Crimson Tide a disappointing 26-10 loss at Neyland Stadium. Kalen DeBoer's team suffered another setback in Knoxville, with the loss extending an unwanted streak that dates back 16 years.
The Volunteers secured their third consecutive home victory over Alabama in the rivalry. A notable 16-year statistic emerged following the loss, as the last time Alabama lost an away game without fans storming the field was in 2010 against LSU.
Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell endured a challenging afternoon against Tennessee's defense. He completed 19 of his 29 pass attempts for 147 yards but threw two interceptions.

Alabama's turnover problems proved equally damaging, as the Crimson Tide surrendered possession twice on fumbles in addition to Russell's interceptions. Tennessee took advantage of those costly mistakes, using the extra opportunities and favorable field position to maintain control of the game.
DeBoer was candid when discussing his team's offensive struggles during the postgame press conference.
"Just struggled to sustain anything," DeBoer said. Keeping drives and continuity there. A penalty or came up short on a couple of fourth downs. You're going to have to find a way to get some explosives against a front like that. We struggled to do that. Turnovers early, gave them some field position. They got the points."
The defeat leaves Tennessee with a 6-1 overall record and a 3-1 mark in SEC play, while Alabama falls to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in conference competition. The result also marks Alabama's first consecutive regular-season losses since 2007 after their recent loss against Georgia .
Alabama will return to Tuscaloosa next week for its Homecoming matchup against Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide will look to bounce back in front of their home fans and prevent their losing streak from extending to three consecutive games.
